In reply to Twitter mite. While writing this article, I read that Cecil formed his pride with another male lion named Jericho. Supposedly, Jericho has been protecting the Cubs as if they were his own which made me think that everything would be alright. It is quite worrisome to hear about the cub's death but I suppose it's nature's way. At least now people will have another reason to outlaw the killing of lions: You kill one, the whole pride will suffer.

I feel so bad for the lion. I actually read something online which stated that when the head of a pride is killed (which Cecil was) the next dominant male lion will take over. However this could endanger the cubs in the pride because the new dominant lion could potentially kill them. Already one cub was killed yesterday by an outsider male lion. The killing of Cecil has already endangered the future generations of Cecil’s pride?
