Is it really a surprise that Disney dropped Hans Christian Anderson's plot, characters, and title when they made Frozen. There are dozens of animated "Snow Queen"s. Disney wanted something they owned 100%.

Although I personally understand the public domain, I really do understand that feeling that it belongs to Disney (These properties just don't). One just needs to go to a RedBox (is that still a thing?) to see the assortment of other treatments of the same story. I get that it feels like a "waste of time" or "maltreatment" when the same property is retold, but we have been doing this from the beginning of time. Romeo and Juliet has been made into a movies upwards of 30 times, and adapted into other stories even more. Its part of life to keep stories alive and to tell them over and over again. So don't be surprised if we see a live action "Frozen" as the newer generations come up. Now if you'll excuse me I have some minors to keep off my lawn.
