I never seen it obviously because it hasn't come out here yet in the U.S. but I can't wait for this movie. Ever since the beginning of 2014, I've been waiting for tis movie and it's almost here. I won't except anything as great and marvelous as Inside Out but here's hoping that it's great as the hype makes it out to be.

I really enjoyed the premiere of this movie (here in Brazil it's available nationwide since last week). It has some great jokes for both: adults and kids.

I enjoyed Minions. For what it was it was a good film. It had some funny slapstick and sight gags and Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are a lovable trio with lots of personallity. I only have two problems with the film. One, is that I felt it could have been funnier, and two, I wish they showed mre of Scarlet Overkill's backstory then tell. Like how they did with Gru in the first Despicable Me. But, I still enjoyed the film and I'd probably see it again. I can really appreciate films like Minions, WALL-E, and Shaun The Sheep that try to prove actions speak louder than words. And an article I recently read about the film and how directors Pirre Coffin and Kyle Balda got inspiration from classic slapstick icons and wanted to make the movie a tribute to those slapstick icons more than a cash in on the characters made me appreciate Minions more. Here is the link for anyone who wants to read that article. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/07/02/movies/05minions-feature.html. .Anyways, Minions may not be a marvelous and spectacular work of art like Inside Out, but it is an entertaining, funny, and silly film that is still worth checking out and I look forward to seeing the little yellow fellows again at the start of Illumination's other films and in Despicable Me 3.

To be safe here's a spoiler warning I guess.

I got to see Minions on the same day as Inside Out and what a difference. Although Minions did make me laugh I did want more of a story. Truth be told the whole film (minus the gags) could probably be solved in about half an hour. I do agree that Scarlett Overkill's backstory was quite interesting and Herb was the sillier side of the duo. But really towards the end Overkill really became just that... Overkill. I found myself saying "really... again?" everytime she kept reappearing towards the end.

Like I said, I did enjoy the film despite it lacking in some areas but y'know.. I think I'm alright with just seeing Minions once and let it be. I did like how it centred on just Kevin, Stuart and Bob. Their different personalities were cute and it's nice to just focus on a small group rather than the entire Minion colony. I guess it'll be a good one to play to keep the younger ones entertained when they come over though.

"As you can already tell, the film’s oncoming victory lap will surprise nobody."

To be fair, $53 million does outpace early international gains for Despicable Me 2.

I don't get the whole surprise value with this. Dispicable Me 2 made 970,000 dollars worldwide. And this movie is guaranteed to make 700 million+. Add the box office revenue of China and the much broader appeal of the minion name, its going to wipe out Inside Out.
