Excelent review! I think that it’s always worth mentioning that this film remains as of today, the only 2D animated film to get an Best Animated Feature Oscar. Greetings from México!

Yeah the collection is amazing, we have a different distributor over here so we’ve had pretty much all of them on blu ray with the exception of Spirited Away for some reason.

I sort of wish the release was more event like, Disney blu ray releases elsewhere are much more impressive. We generally get bare bones editions of films…with the exception of this Miyazaki collection which is incredible and I love it 🙂

In reply to Benjamin Boekelaar. Whoa that is an incredible collection!!!! I've been purchasing The Studio Ghibli films as Disney re-releases them. I'm so glad they, Disney and other companies, are bringing back films in the Blu Ray format each one feels like an event.

I don’t want to over sell this film too much, but it is one of Miyazaki’s best films. If you are just getting introduced to his works, anime, or animation in general, its a great place to start. It has the eastern method of taking time to deliver the plot, and can seem a bit esoteric for the American audience, but regardless it remains an amazing film.
The Blu-Ray is amazing, I feel the need to exaggerate with it at times, it feels like a new film, the crisp lines and vibrant colors are just amazing. If its been awhile since you’ve seen “Spirited Away’, one could argue this is the definitive edition to check out. The bonus features are very appealing to my particular preferences as well. This not being a negative but they need to do a more recent documentary on Studio Ghibli, in the same vein as the Pixar one that made which was of incredible quality.

So good to have the film on Blu Ray, animation really pops in high definition.
