Hi rotoscopers!

I loved this episode! I like how philosophical it gets. I saw this movie when I was only a small kid, so most of the messages went over my head. Looking back and realizing what the alligator meant and how the whole story can be seen as a allegory baffles me. Great episode!

Is there any other way I can send you guys a voicenote? My computer doesn't have a microphone and it won't let me record on my phone (it gives me a Err 404). I don't know of any other way to communicate with you guys other than these comments.

If I could record a voicenote on my phone and upload it somewhere that would be awesome.

Keep doin' what you guys do!

The Rotoscopers covered much in this podcast and it was a treat to hear the full
background of the creation of “Peter Pan” and how much effort went into the
animation. Each character has a distinct movement aligned with their personality: Tinkerbell is a bit vain so she strutts around, Wendy’s gestures are primp and proper, Mr. Smee throws up his hands in despair, and of course Peter defies all social demands of "growing up" by defying gravity.

I want to add that the time the book was written, the concept of an adolescent/teenager didn't exist yet. Children were kept out of sight and away in the nursery for years and then suddenly sent off to boarding school or “debut parties” to signify that they were adults. Nowadays society accepts the gradual transition from childhood to adulthood so “growing up” doesn’t have to be a sudden and terrifying experience. (This resonated with me right after listening to your podcast as well as seeing “Inside Out.”) Peter Pan’s self-centeredness is confirmed in the book as he is “young and heartless” but in this film his humor is more playful than malicious going along with the anything-can-happen environment of Neverland.

Hook is an entertaining villain. He could’ve been completely frightening but he’s also
droll and melodramatic so he has funny moments. I’m convinced that Disney villains
pride themselves in the arts with constant practice in singing and/or playing
musical instruments. (e.g. Rattigan, Gaston, Ursula.)

That's a way better story as to how I acquired mine. I got it at a science fair. I use it to punctuate certain moments in my life: Just got home time to celebrate with some thunder tube, feeling down thunder tube please, going to start a movie thunder tube me captain, just to garner attention from those around you well the thunder tube is your answer. Countless people will look at you in disgust over the jealousy they feel over not having a thunder tube. Thank you Chelsea Robson for the gift that is the Thunder tube (She should get a sponsorship)
