Monsters University was just as good as the original. The animation is as colorful as ever. I would have liked the movie even better if Mike and Sully did truly meet in college instead of in elementary school as stated in the original. It was to my previous understanding the story was going to be told in flashback as the duo are telling it to Boo. I graduated from high school 12 months before MU was released. The rest of Oozma Kappa had clever moments to shine as well as develop the duo's growing friendship!

You are going to face and encounter some problems the moment you enter a new world and this is what Monsters University was talking about. The movie was released to show more of Mike and to make it relatable to College students. Eventually, you are going to show everyone what you got and prove them wrong, and as long as you believe yourself and tend to become a hardworker, you are going to succeed in your own life. This is what Monsters University is all about.

Monsters University might not have the most developed story or characters but it was SURELY mindblowing! The animation was spectacular and so smooth. The characters were well-written, developed, and had deep background memories(Mike, Sulley, Randall, Johnny...). The story events, conflicts, and the plot twists were quiet surprising, from exciting and hyper adventures of them attending the Scare Games to something ultimately mindblowing when they were scaring the cops and the policemen. And most importantly, it had something deep to deliver - a lot of lessons were actually demonstrated. The movie had its own actions and its own touching scenes. It's an incredible mix of comedy, tragedy, action, and heartwarming events of characters encountering their own problems, reaching their goals, and proving that they're the "best". Speaking of moral teachings, this movie literally teaches you EVERYTHING about life as it develops; not to give up and believe in yourself even if you failed several times - from a rival you can make out a friend - teamwork is important no matter how can you accomplish your targets and goals - from a small thing you can showcase everything - through hard work, confidence, and determination you can achieve everything - prove you are the best and show them what you got. I also loved how from a normal college and world, they can add their own touches to create a wide world of monsters.

I'd rate this movie as 5/5. My favorite movie of all the time! Probably not better than Wall-E or Up but I quiet enjoyed Monsters University and had been a hard fan since the first place and I do like it more, even more than Wall-E and Up.

I really hope they can make a Monsters University 2, aside of Party Central. :)

I watched this movie for the first time in 2013, when I was a high school senior, and I really liked it. However, I didn't love it which was disappointing for me as a huge Pixar fan. But then I watched it again yesterday, and I am rising college sophomore now, and MAN did my perspective on this movie change. It's absolutely blew me away how relatable the whole movie became to me, especially Mike's college experience and character. I was exactly like Mike, had a plan for everything, worked very hard towards my goals thinking that's all that counts. I clearly realize now that it's not. My favorite quote from the movie is when Mike says "I thought if I wanted it enough, I could show everybody that... that Mike Wazowski is something special." But one nice message from this movie is that there is more than one path to fulfilling your dreams. So yeah, I now realize how amazing Monsters University is. You may need a certain college experience to appreciate all its messages though if you were like me.

Dang...better than Up and Toy Story 3 combined? That's quite and accomplishment for Pixar! My wife and I won't be able to check it out until Sunday, but we're super excited!

I really love this film, as it carries one of the best storylines that I have seen in an animated film this decade, which is that not the best thing always happens to our protaginists. THe single worst thing actually happened to our hero, but that's what makes this story great, and resonant. not to mention the excellent voice cast and superb animation

I feel the same way about this movie. I think MU was just as good as M Inc. and a comeback for the studio, and I don't understand why it's so underrated.

I think they did a really good job working the relationship between Mike and Sulley (the fact that they don't start as best buddies, but instead grow into it, it's brilliant!). When I was in the movie theatre, I thought the end of the scare tournament was the final scene in the movie and that everything would end magically well for Mike in the most disappointing cliche ever, but that's when the movie threw in the biggest twist and went very deep and emotional.

Personally, I found it SO brilliant how it ended! We all knew what was going to happen, but nobody could ever guess it would happen that way.
