Brave wasn't great but I did appreciate it's gripping and heartwarming story. This underrated gem has occasions of rousing action and pixeled with the most lavish animation seen in a Pixar film yet! I would have liked it better if Brenda Chapman did remain director throughout production. This would have been amazing history in the making.

I always hated this movie

All Feminist political Jargon aside, it's basically the Little Mermaid if Ariel was an unsympathetic little twat.

It's a teenager's revenge fantasy of going to great lengths to get what they want without any insight of the outcome of them or their loved ones around them. Goes through trials of bitching, stupidity, denial, and at the end of the day out of sheer luck comes up on top with absolutely no consequences of their own and learns nothing. All under the influence of their own pride and stubborness.

Yea I LOVE characters that go
"That's lame, everyone's lame watch me do better!
"Fail, Fail, fail, fail, fail, fail, fail...."

As a side note HOW DID THIS MOVIE win an Oscar? It's not so much Wreck it Ralph lost ( though that is true) but THIS movie of ALL movies!

I think the only real problem was how Disney handled marketing this film, but the photo-realism and music were just great. I like the touching tribute to Steve Jobs at the end as well

I agree with you about liking the mother/daughter aspect of Brave :) There really aren't that many animated movies that delve into the relationships between mother and daughters!

I saw this recently again and I really had fun with it mainly with Merida. I know people just hate her for being so typical but I like the mother daughter aspect with her and Elinor since really I've never seen that in an animated film in ever or a long time. And I think people should open up more to this movie since it is good enough for what it was especially after Cars 2!
Overall I really really enjoy this movie and needs to be more appreciated I think!

I completely agree with you about Brave being an underrated film! Brave really is very different from other animated films in terms of the story it tells and the characters it focuses on. It takes a lot to get audiences to accept something new and different, and I think this was a big factor in why Brave didn't take off like it could have. While Brave wasn't a box office bomb, it definitely didn't make as much money as many other Pixar hits. But it's still just so good ;)

I love the backgrounds in Brave! I think some films take photorealism in backgrounds too far, but it works so well in Brave. And the Scotland scenery makes for such an amazing backdrop for the film.
