I’m VERY pissed off. I thought Arlo was suppose to be a male TEEN. We alREADY have a dino movie about kid dinos, ahem “LAND BEFORE TIME.”
Why the FUDGE is a snot nosed kid voicing the teen dino I was excited to see? Sorry but I’m so sick of this. I just want a decent animated movie about a teen boy. But NOOOOO since grown boys probably won’t watch it lets make the new dino a stupid kid. Cause HEY, it’s not like teenage men don’t get lost or separated from family, only girls, women, and boys do. So dang STUPID. Disappointed, will not watch. I’m sick of kids. Why can’t they make an adult male character that is an older teen as the main character? We already go millions of teen girl princesses from Disney. What if they turned “BRAVE” Merida into a kid…. THAT’D BE STUPID.

I understand, but I wouldn’t be too unhappy about it. Anything that they are doing is all for the good of the story. It is entirely possible that as they developed the characters, they decided that the previous voices just didn’t match the characters’ personalities anymore. I’m sure that they know what they are doing. This is just the nature of the creative process.
When you go to see the movie, be sure to go in with an open-mind.

It’s not really so close. This new cast has already been on the project for a while now. They are just now *announcing* the new cast to the public. It doesn’t mean that they are *now* starting to record all over again.

I’m honestly not happy with the new cast (except for Frances, SHE IS AWESOME!) but the rest were just so perfect in my mind but now its just……not

In reply to DizzyFuss. I think DizzyFuss is definitely right. Do you think they're releasing a movie in November and just got their voice cast together? Of course not. They record the lines before they start animating, so in case you expect them to animate the entire movie in just a few short months, it's seems obvious that this cast has been on the project for quite some time now, they're just announcing it now.

Because the movie is being released this November of this year. If they *just* started recording now, they would never be able to make that deadline, that’s not how things work. Just because they are *now* publicly releasing info, does not mean that they have not started recording them yet. Official press releases (for voice talent) this late in the game, are always announced after they have done most of the recording.

In animation for film or TV, voice recording *always* comes before the animation. (Even in this case, since they are starting fresh) The only exception is ADR (additional dialogue recording) in post-production, when the filmmakers want to add or change a line, in which case, the actors will “loop” the dialogue to an image on a monitor.

And no, I do not work at Disney or Pixar, and I am not a filmmaker. But I am a fan of their work and I am 30 years old, I have been around the block a few times and have learned a thing or two.
