Exactly. I’ve been watching him since 2014, I’ve seen most videos of him 🙂 I remember that when I gave my review on San Andreas on class, someone said: “San Andreas is the best disaster movie ever!”. My English teacher asked me how much would I rate from 1 to 10 the special effects in that movie. I said; “Nine”. He then told us that movies like San Andreas will not be remembered by many because it’s basically a movie we’ve all seen before, and told us people we attracted to San Andreas because of its special effects. That’s it. Or because Dwayne Johnson was in it, who knows.
I know that not every traditional hand-drawn movie is great, and I know not every CGI animated/live-action movie is bad, however as long as a movie has a story we’ve seen before, but makes its own twist (that makes sense in the movie), is mostly/all original, or just try to tell a simple story, people will remember it. I just really want to think traditional animation can be as painful as making special effects, and audiences are not noticing.

Yeah. Maybe the modern dialogue and other elements. Yeah. If you saw disneycember toy story, Doug talks about “we don’t need Tom cruise on a train, we can just cg it, and also, let’s not put effort into the stories.” in the 90s.

As of now, people still believe 2D is just for kids. While it’s not dead, CGI is preferred. It’s being used in almost all movies today (though some movies just use it a little bit), in fact, every single one (San Andreas, Avatar, Transformers, and much more). Some movies suffer from bad storytelling or characters because the production puts more effort in the effects, and I’m a little disappointed by that, I understand some have to make money quick XD.
And because of that, CGI is getting a little on my nerves. Not just CG animated movies alone but, again, it’s everywhere.

If CG Animation really got ‘repetitive’, then films from either one of the big three (or anywhere else) wouldn’t be making boatloads of money right now.
