Her name is Darcy Lewis and she is not useless. Without her, there would’ve been nobody to find Erik. Also, without her, there would’ve been no story- remember the first scene on Earth? With the malfunctioning piece of equipment? If Darcy hadn’t pointed that out, they wouldn’t have gone to the warehouse to find Thor and the movie probably wouldn’t have happened.
(Also, she tasered a god.)

Not a huge fan of Kat Dennings though. I felt her role in Thor 2 was pretty useless. The only purpose her character served in that movie was to spew snarky or sarcastic comments. They’d get really involved in the action on Asgard then it was a quick cut to Kat’s character to have her say something sarcastic, then back to Asgard to continue the story. I guess we can’t blame that on Kat Dennings though. That’s writer/director issue. Oh well, I’m glad to see a Croods 2 and it will be interesting to see how her voice work turns out for the movie.
