The TV series was amazing despite the limited budget for animation though. Disney's only spin-off series that was actually any good.

Well, if there's anything to like about the cover, it's the color scheme. I like the silver and blue a lot, but it really doesn't help the off-model character stuff... though Genie seems to be the only spot-on character to me.

I hate to say that this is one of the Diamond Edition covers that I dislike [though I like the actual movie], so I'm disappointed. Let's just hope that the extras make it worth buying this thing.

Maybe this means the sequels will get a new release in the future? [Crosses fingers] Maybe even the TV series too? [eh... I doubt it]

Very true. I also love minimalistic but well done covers- simple and classy, capturing the heart of the animation. Ooo these Ghibli covers are pretty cool looking!

I always think: these covers are so obvious. Nowadays the public is sophisticated, including the children. There is so much artistry in these movies, but this does not show in the cover or even in the movie posters. Take a look at these gorgeous minimalist covers from Ghibli's blurays at Japan.

Yes I absolutely loved the Sleeping Beauty cover art. They were going to have Aurora with her Briar Rose outfit, which I would have preferred more, but at the end they went with her princess dress. But yes I wish all the covers were well thought out in the same way.

I remember that here at Brazil the John Alvin's posters were used at some Disney products. For example: the folder inside the Aladdin VHS tape had Alvin's work as its cover. I really don't know the terms of the contract but maybe, this being a work for hire, Disney could do anything they wantv with this images.
The cover for the more recent Sleeping Beauty bluray is beautiful. I wish all this covers could be so well crafed. They really used the traditional look of the characters, without going of model, and with great design.

Ehhh :P I agree- Disney really needs to work on their cover artwork. Seriously this department should not be lacking! Its a Diamond edition so they could have themed Aladdin with one of its most notable quote and theme "DIAMOND in the rough". The characters seriously don't even look like themselves! This style just makes it look cheap when Aladdin is so visually stunning in style and rich in color. Disney, I love you but please put more work into these covers!
