I know, but that’s not what I wanna pick a bone with on this episode. When you put out the Defenders of Berk reviews, I’ll tell you.

Be that as it may, but I personally think that it gave us a good idea of why Astrid was (emphasis on ‘was’) the hard-head that we saw in HTTYD1 and most of ROB/DOB: it wasn’t enough that she felt the weight of legacy (Berk’s former legacy of dragon killing) on her shoulders, she also had the burden of her family’s name being disparaged because of what happened to her dad (which is pretty accurate, as family honor was something that Vikings cared a LOT about).

But once all of that is resolved, Astrid (as seen in HTTYD2 and possibly Race to the Edge) has effectively mellowed out and become a more relaxed person. Her skill and passion as a warrior hasn’t disappeared, but the red-hot flames that used to drive her are long gone by that point.

Simply put, she’s no villain. Was she confrontational and difficult? Yes, but her reasons for acting that way can be justified very easily. You can just call it ‘complicated’.

Yes, I believe it’s the “Fright of Passage” episode. Another episode I have a bone to pick with (with the writers).
