The Kung Fu Panda TV series is still on Nickelodeon. But it betting that it won’t say their for much longer, as DWA already severed its ties to Paramount a long time ago.

Not sure how moving the show to a network that a decent chunk of the core audience does not have, potentially cutting an equal chunk out of the total viewership out, could not be concidered a negative impact.

Well, sort of. Considering I’m completely limited to the occasional free WiFi that’s available when I go out. And the only sites for this fandom that I frequent dont provide ways to watch the show, only give you news about it, so… yeah. My options are limited.

I know several netflix shows that were released to DVD. And I just realized the Kung Fu Panda show was released on DVD, 3 seasons of it have been actually (it was advertized on the Dragons DVDs). And Turbo FAST season 1 is being released on June 2nd, so I’m beginning to feel a lot better about Race to the Edge’s odds.

Not quite sure I agree that having Race to the Edge on Netflix will have a negative effect. Will your options (as a fan) be limited? Yes, but I don’t think putting it on Netflix will effect the show’s viewership. It certainly hasn’t effected any of DWA’s other Netflix shows (as far as I’m aware).

And to DWA’s credit, the Netflix deal was set in stone a long time ago, so this was (in a way) inevitable.

The only Netflix show that I know for a fact had a DVD release was House of Cards. So on that front, there’s hope yet!

Once again, while we wished that there was an easier alternative, that’s ultimately something that we can’t control.

Yep. And it’s also bad business when they’re is such a big out cry over it when the show is popular. It’s really going to have a nagative effect on it. And even worse, DW is blatantly ignoring people who ask them about it; they respond to people who comment favorably, but they won’t respond if the person says they don’t have netflix but still want to watch.
I’ll have to look into that. I think I have a few other options, but I’d rather not resort to those. I’m stll hoping for a DVD release. If they can release the first 2 seasons, they can for 3 and 4 too. As far as I’ve heard, sales were good on them, and it’s always sold out at the shops around here.

That is, unfortunately, the downside of having a studio funnel all of its TV efforts to a place like Netflix: it has the unintended consequence of limiting options for certain people.

Have you tried reaching out to the fandom? There are plenty of options for catching the show there.

Like you mentioned, I fall in the boat of people who don’t have Netflix. Not because I don’t want it, I’m willing to get it just for this show, but I have no way to access it. The internet providors in our area can not get a signal where I live (a heavily wooded, low-ground-level, rural area); even though my neighbors next door can. And like the countless others on social media, I have expressed my dissapointment that it’s only on Netflix directly to DW via Facebook and twitter and email; at least when it was on CN I could get a signal for that. Seriously, if you read through the comments on DW posts, nearly 75% are people saying they love the show, want to watch it but don’t have netflix.

So my fingers are crossed for an eventual DVD release. It is one of their most popular franchises, and they released prior seasons on DVD, so it should be released the same way.

But until then, I’m perfectly fine getting my information from other sources and I don’t mind spoilers. And I sincerly hope you include lots of details from each episode in your reviews to tide us over until we do get to see it.
