No, it’s the last one until the summer. More episodes are definitely coming, it’s just going to be a few months.

I’m guessing that if Grunkle Stan really is Dipper and Mable’s Grunkle, I think it’s likely that his brother is their grandpa, assuming that they don’t have any other siblings or cousins to pass on the name which seems a bit unlikely judging from the clip that played during the credits. Looking back at the first episode, it does seem a bit odd that their parents decided to send their kids to their great uncle instead of their grandfather, to me it seemed to hint that their grandfather wasn’t there anymore. Stan’s brother hadn’t been around either. Of course, since we don’t know who Stan really is at the moment, for all we know maybe Stan is actually their grandpa pretending to be their Grunkle for reasons. The possibilities are endless, but until the show continues I’m going to assume that he’s their grandfather.

I guess I didn’t think that deeply on who Stan’s brother might be to them. Are you thinking that he is their grandfather? That didn’t even cross my mind! I guess I have always assumed that there was another sibling that just wasn’t anywhere around. If he is their grandfather, that just begs a whole new crop of questions!

Yes, I have a feeling that it’s going to be a very different show after the hiatus, not only because of the characters’ emotional states, and the new uncle, (will they call him Grunkle too?) but where are they going to live? They can’t very well live in the Mystery Shack with the feds crawling around. Not to mention the fact that it floated into the air and came crashing down. It’s a pretty good bet that the building’s foundation has been compromised. I can’t wait to see where this goes!

I completely agree. There is so much out there that is anywhere from sub-par to awful. Case in point, I reviewed an Uncle Grandpa DVD last week. It’s on the site if you’re curious. It was so hard to get through. It’s fine as background noise if you’re not really paying attention to it, but I had to review it, so I had to pay attention, and it was so hard. The writing is just mind-numbing, and there is nothing about the characters that make you care about them. With Gravity Falls, I can watch every episode over and over. The writing is above and beyond most other animated series, and all the characters are unique, and you really care for them. Not much can come close to Gravity Falls’ level of excellence.

I love that this episode answered some huge questions, only to raise a ton more. The hiatus can’t end soon enough!

Judging from some of Alex Hirsch’s comments, what I’m most interested in is Dipper’s reaction. He’s probably going to feel hugely betrayed by Mabel for trusting Stan over him, and Stan for lying to him about the journals, but I also predict a lot of self loathing. After all, if Dipper had his way, Stan’s brother wouldn’t have come back. Considering Dipper is my favourite character, colour me concerned and excited for the show’s return!
