I never associate the live action remakes to their animated counterparts. They’re two entirely different mediums with different stories. They just so happen to use the same source material. Please, stop being so nostalgically orientated and let Disney do whatever they need to do to keep the majority entertained.

Beauty and the beast is most egregious because doing it on the classocs 25th anniversary yr like tjat just isn’t right. I sm kind of like whatever on Cinderella botj versions. Malcifent is just weird and I know thay from the trailers alone. Beauty and the beast. How are they going to do live action beast? How will side characters most notably tea pot and her tea cup son, the candle and clock work? The magical elements will be lost. Dumbo the star is an elephant there was a reason it was made animated . 101 dalamatoins already yrs ago hadlive action version. I want live action beauty and the beast to tank so hard to me idea of it is just so wrong.

In reply to Mônica. The best live action 'Peter Pan' so far already came out in 2003. Leagues better than 'Hook' (as fun as that was) and fairly faithful to the classic tale.

You mentioned their success with some new films lately including “Tangled” and “Big Hero 6”. That’s what I want Disney to do more of or at least, focus on original films as much as rebooted classic.

That said, I can only presume that they are taking calculated risks about which films they produce will make sufficient profit. I didn’t enjoy “Alice in Wonderland” and have heard the backlash about “Maleficent” but even if movie-goers walk away disgruntled, they DID go to the movies; and Disney is one of the biggest names in the industry so they have high expectations. If it has A-list actors, bright CGI, and colorful costumes, people will go see it. If there’s merchandise that is aesthetically pleasing, people will buy it.

That being said, I consider the animated classics of the likes of 1950 “Cinderella” and 1991’s “Beauty and the Beast” to be some of the best of Disney’s original work. So reboots come across as lower expectations to me. I’m sure the writers and producers will work night-and-day to produce a film as good as possible…but I want *original* stories and characters from Disney (That includes “Tangled” and “Frozen” to me because Disney didn’t do “Rapunzel” or “The Snow Queen” before)
