No I don’t think this is an April Fool’s joke. I think the film was announced prior to April 1st. I just happened to post this article on April 1st.

I haven’t seen much of the 1960s show, but the recent animated show Batman: The Brave and the Bold supposedly had a similar tone, and it turned out great. So this new film definitely has a good chance of being entertaining.
