A lot of animated films get delayed for a lot of different reasons, but it's not to test your patience. If something is not working (whether that be the story or the animation, or sometimes both), the film would absolutely need the extra time in order to work out the problems and turn out an improved final product. If some other massive film is releasing on the same day as theirs, than they might need to find another spot where the film can have better exposure.

Sure, the wait can be long, but people will more than likely remember a bad film than remember that a film got pushed back five different times.

Again, no one studio is trying to test your patience. The film just simply needs more time to cook.

Sony Animation has an untitled feature set for September 23 of that year (where it will fight LEGO Ninjago for the top spot at the BO). There's also Free Birds, but that's being handeld by Sony Imageworks.

why through the last two years lots of movies got delayed from lots of Studios, that's so disappointing, why are they testing our patience, but I did like the short Disney adaption of Ferdinand and I do like the smurfs. Lets hope that Sony pictures will think more before these actions.
