It probably did cost it the Oscar, which is an award that has WAY too much importance placed on it. After all, like the person above said, this is the same voting body that believes “Best Animated” really means “Favorite Cartoon for My Kid”, which included one voter who called Kaguya and Song of the Sea “freakin’ obscure Chinese Things”, and which included another voter who admitted to voting for “Feast” because they are a dog lover….
