Here's my synopsis. 3 years since the original things have been fine in the kingdom of Arrendale but one day Elsa's ice powers malfunction horribly almost killing herself. She talks to the trolls and learns that if she wants to have the problem fixed she'll have to go FAR up north and find the realm of the ice giants and Jokul Frosti. She sets out to go at it alone but Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven aren't going to leave her and they embark on a frigid journey, all this time Kristoff tries to propose to Anna but worries about her safety and their survival. Frozen 2 Cold to handle

Disney is trying to make room for Pixar films. If you check their release slate it's still two to three animated features a year, just not one from each anymore:
"Inside Out" June 2015
"Good Dinosaur" November 2015
"Finding Dory" June 2016
"Toy Story 4" June 2017
Untitled Film - November 2017
Untitled Film - June 2018

If nothing gets bumped, expect November 2018 for Frozen 2 if it doesn't become a DisneyToon Studios release. That seems a pretty long wait for kids. I still bet this will quietly move to DTS.

The thing is, Tangled didn't make near this much money or have this much cultural impact. Big Hero 6 was only just released, wait it out a bit. Also, Big Hero 6 was not a musical, so there was no "Let It Go!" to boost sales on the soundtrack. And I'm curious, why do you think Moana won't get much love from the Mouse House? I don't think we can really foresee what's gonna happen with that one. And as for the other princesses not mattering anymore, Frozen is the flavor of the week right now. Anna and Elsa are new and exciting. Later on, the hype will die down and all the princesses will be even again.

The reasons for the sequel greatly outnumber the reasons against. Disney is a business first, no matter what. If they don't make money, they can't make films. Why wouldn't they make this film? Frozen had a huge culture impact, made a GIGANTIC LOAD of money in the box office, got rave reviews, and is now one of the most loved (and hated) Disney films ever. A new film opens up the door (pun intended) for new toys, dolls, songs, and more ticket sales. This is also a low-risk chance for Disney to prove that they indeed can do sequels. If it works and they figure out how to do an effective sequel, more sequels! If it doesn't, that's okay, the movie will still make money, but they can go back to the drawing board and figure out how to do a sequel better. It's a pretty smart move.

yeah I rather everything but Frozen!!! this movie is getting on my nerves it can't be compare with classics like The Lion King, or Beauty and the Beast or even Hercules, that was a better film than this one. And besides I think the story is done already it doesn't need a sequel, they'll ruin it

Elsa's magic metaphorically represents our real-world traits and abilities, and is one of several reasons that she is a universally relatable character. Focusing on her magic and trying to explain its origins would therefore directly undermine this character and much of the first movie.

Giving Elsa a romantic love interest would likewise undermine her relatability. I'm not saying that she can't have one at all, pretending that she is a real person here, but I don't want to see it in a movie. For one thing they'd have to pick a gender, so there goes that aspect of her relatability. No, I'm not saying that Elsa is homosexual and I'm not saying that she is not, but the point is that we shouldn't know--leave it up to the audience to make their own interpretations. And if Elsa does not get a romantic love interest, then this would seem to imply that she cannot.

The bottom line is that there should NOT be a sequel at all. Frozen is a movie that does not need or call for sequels, and furthermore would be better off without sequels. It ended in about as perfect a way as possible--pointedly with some questions left unanswered, as they should be.

As long as they don't give Elsa a love interest I'm optimistic. Also I really hope they DON'T explain the origins of Elsa's powers because I believe a big part of the magic of this character is that we don't know. And all the people who identify with her because they are depressed, shy, gay, or suffer from disorders don't know where their "conditions" come from either. And come on! Even J.K. Rowling didn't explain how her witches and wizards got their powers, and no one complains about that! What's everyones problem? It's magic! Deal with it!
