That’s a really interesting metaphor for how thinking about old happy memories can sometimes turn them sad because you yearn for them.

I’m really looking forward to this! I guess I’m still not sold on how simple some of the designs are, but I bet they’re keeping plenty of creative surprises out of the trailer. Pete Docter is a really wonderful director, so I think Pixar’s getting on the right track. :3 Which is really relieving, I feel like I’ve been too much of a cranky critic with the various underwhelming films lately. I gotta reconnect with my inner joy. =.=

Most of it feels like it’s already been done before, but Big Hero 6 was also mostly stuff that’s already been done and everyone loved it (I personally think it’s meh – not trying to come off as a blind Pixar fanboy, I just really thought it could have been better – IO could turn out the same way for me). I’m sure there’s still a lot they’re not showing, so the limited number of locations in the trailer doesn’t bug me much. Maybe it won’t turn out so great, but I’m staying optimistic.
