Same here. It's more like we'll probably know that they're not so much on a roll anymore once they start resorting to sequels (Winnie the Pooh notwithstanding--they probably took that one on to keep their 2D animators busy until their next major project, which of course never materialized).

By the way, it's strange how some who speak of potential WDAS sequels do so in a cynical manner, as though it's so predictable or inevitable. Since when were WDAS ever so keen on sequels, anyway? I know that Rich Moore really wants to make Wreck-It Ralph 2, but that's far more of an exception than the rule, and history has shown this with regard to WDAS specifically (can be traced back to Walt saying "You can't top pigs with pigs").

Yeah, if anything Disney's marketing was being more honest than usual regarding what Big Hero 6 is about. They might not have told the North American audience that it was about bereavement at its core (although everybody should know that superhero origin stories generally have to explain what gave the main character the crazy idea to become a superhero), but according to the trailers and other ads clearly the focus was on Hiro and Baymax.

In contrast, with Frozen first we were told that it was about a living snowman and a reindeer, and then we were told that it was about which of the male characters would save the day (or none of them as an option, in a rare moment of honesty)--Anna seemed to play second-fiddle, while Elsa, the character who would really catch on the most by far with the public, was only in a couple of quick shots. A bit later there were TV spots that showed Anna and Elsa throwing snowballs at each other, and such. Yeah, the actual movie was totally about this stuff. ;) And the songs? What songs? :)

Maybe this just ain't right, but with WDAS' animated features (and Pixar's, for that matter), we need to keep an open mind regarding what they are really about, and take them as they are rather than judging how close they come to our expectations and preconceptions going in, especially given Disney's often misleading advertising.

i wouldnt say that Disney Hinted at that. They were pretty much telling you that from the first teaser, and even more in the Japanese version which in my opinion should've been the advertisements for the US. Let alone clips, posters, books, it was clearly telling you that the story was about Hiro. Also, we are talking about Disney here, you have to always expect something different. People thought Bolt was a full fledged action movie, and if you watched the film, it wasnt. Frozen's advertisement was on Olaf, we got something more, Wreck it Ralph we saw the characters who really only appear in the begining. And this is no exception. The only Disney film as of late that its trailer was telling you exactly what you were getting was Winnie the Pooh.
