As a casual Frozen fan, I welcome this new addition to the Disney on Broadway line. I have only seen one or two Disney musicals [the not-so-well-known “Aida” and the before-Broadway version of “Aladdin”], and I loved how they really put on a show that was beautiful and entertaining. I have no doubts that Disney could pull off some amazing feats using technology to make Elsa’s icy powers come to life on stage. Also, new songs make me hope for some new character development. Eeeeee~

However, a part of me does wonder if the “Frozen-fever” [hehe] will still be as high as it is now in two more years. I do know treasured classics like “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Lion King” and “The Little Mermaid” definitely have when they made the transition from animation to live-action stage show. I hope this is a step in the right direction for the series, but I also hope it’s not a move that will shoot the Almighty Mouse in the foot [or should that be a boot?].

Please be good. The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Aladdin were all great Broadway shows. Hope they keep up the trend.

Disney knows how to produce great musicals and they have proven it time and time again! Look at some of them beauty and the beast, mary poppins, aladdin! All noninated for best musical at the Tony awards! Not to mention how they transformed movie flop “Newsies” into an amazing show! Also who can forget The lion king that took Broadway by storm and swept the tony awards WINNING best musical and several other awards! Trust me Frozen is in good hands at disney theatrical! I couldn’t be more excited!

And so it will come…. again. Unless get all whiny about the musical not being like the movie or saying that the musical is better and thus a new fanwar will start up. As a casual fan of Frozen I am both interested and terrified of the idea of this being made. Hopefully Disney knows what they are doing with this and will tread carefully.
