As much as I’ve wanted to see an USAGI film on the big screen for the last 26 years, if a direct-to-dvd film is what we get, then I’m all for it! And if its as loyal as the LAST REQUEST was, then its in great hands!

Don’t know if that will be the case. The only similarity between the two is that they have talking animals in fantasy worlds that resemble medival Asian cultures (Usagi in Ancient Japan and KFP in Ancient China). Usagi also pre-dates KFP by a couple decades.

I would also argue that we might not have a KFP if it weren’t for Usagi Yojimbo (VERY influential title, as I’ve mentioned in the article).

Not too shabby. I would like to see a movie based on this. Hopefully people won’t compare this to Kung Fu Panda and call it a cheap knock-off since we already have enough of those. UGH!
