Hello : )
I am listening to old podcast waiting for the new one to come up. I must say I disagree on something on the nerdy couch discussion I feel like aurora is a weak character, she only has 17 lines in the entire film and she only cries and dance. I do agree cinderella is better because she is more kind and humble. I know that you guys say in the catch and fire questions usually say that cinderella 2 is a terrible film. Honestly, growing up I enjoyed that film quite a lot, you get to know cinderella more the stories are very entertaining my favorite one was with Anastasia with a wonderful message anyone can find love. I think the worst sequel disney has ever done is Pocahontas 2 and im not a fan of cinderella 3. Love these podcasts you guys!

Hearing what they did to this fine film on Blu-Ray is a travesty (and so is The Sword in The Stone, I guess someone didn't like seeing those pencil marks). I'm glad I own the earliest home video release of Cinderella on LaserDisc (actually two versions now that I think about it, the other disc is from a later 90's release). That's probably the best version we'll ever get for it's time.

While the mice are nothing to write home of, Gus' introduction always caught my attention simply in how it sets up how Cinderella clearly friends each of them the way she does it. Gus simply begins the film as a nameless entity, trapped in a cage, naked and afraid (to coin a recent reality show title), and after some coxing by Jac, is made to see the reason to not fear this single human being who clothes him and gives him an identity, separately him from an average, ordinary mice outside that house (not to say mice in this world don't take on the same human-ish existence as in other Disney films like The Great Mouse Detective, I just think they don't see a point to in this one until a human showed them the way). It's rather interesting if you think about it.

Mason's take on Goofy wasn't that bad I felt, although I thought Will Ryan did a fine Goofy himself, so who am I to say which is best.

I recall watching the direct-to-video sequels a few years back. I suppose they're OK on their own, though at times they came off like a cross between fan wish fulfillment and the types of stories that would probably work better in comics (which Disney would do pretty well with anyway). One thing I do recall is how they fleshed out one of the stepsisters more than she ever got in the original film (Anastasia) and actually gave her a love interest in the first video. Of course Lady Tremaine gets her time in the second video in becoming the witch she has always wanted to be.

Hey I just wanted to ask you Morgan how you feel about the restoration for the Platinum edition for Cinderalla since I own that version since the Blu-Ray you said is not really good restoration. On the other hand, great podcast!!!

Great podcast, guys!

I totally agree with what y'all said about the three Princesses and the "controversies" about them. These princesses are such amazing role models for everyone, both women and men. I just love Cinderella's selflessness, ability to love, kindness, and gratitude. She's definitely someone worth looking up to!

And yeah, Mason singing 'Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo' as Goofy was the funniest part of this episode!

Love love love Cinderella! She is one of my favorites (definitely top 3 princesses)- I thought I actually was Cinderella for like 3 years when I was little. Completely agree with you on the first 3 princesses as well!

Great podcast :)

I wish I had sent in a voicemail for this. I had sent in an email for this way back. Then, they announced that they were only doing voicemails in the future.

Nonetheless, this was a great podcast! I can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of 2015.

Another superb episode from the Scopers of Roto! You alls are such a delight to listen to, you keep me from going completely insane during the dreary graveyard shift. So thanks again for another entertaining show! Thought the nerdy couch discussion was very insightful and I think you fine folks really hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial l head as far as the unwarranted criticism of those lovely princesses are concerned. Although once again I take offense to Mr. Smith on his thought of Star Wars being ruined by Disney. First Gravity Falls and now this?....... BUUUUT all is forgiven, as that Goofy dub was just about the most amazing thing I've ever heard! This idea of the soon to be world famous Mason Dub is something I can get behind! Anywho, keep up the fantastic work you three and looking forward to the next episode!
