Wonderful review! I’m a big fan of early, indipendent Chinese animation (the more recent examples are too similar to animes), and I agree with this review. I’d also say the animation in pretty fluid!

I remember stumbling onto this film on YouTube. It’s a unique work of art. I just wish it had subtitles. I didn’t understand a word of it. Lol.

I remember watching this and the television show “The Legend of Nezha”. China really liked making animated content based off their folklore. Sadly, Chinese animation just can’t compete with the rest of the world because of all their setbacks in history.
