I like the voice cast… and the message that seems to be the focal point of the movie, but the designs? …Not really a fan of that. It’s definitely more “Strange” than “Magic”, I’ll say that much… but I will try really, really hard not to judge this by appearances [even if I want to].

Also, “Happy Feet” called. They want their main musical hook back.

I’ll admit, while I wasn’t crazy about the first trailer, I’m willing to give this a chance. Sometimes films with not so great trailers turn out better than they initially look. I like the animation and the idea of it being a sort of fairytale based on A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

You know what? I’m going to keep an open mind about this film. The character design reminds me a lot of Rango, which I consider an amazing animated movie. I’m really impressed by the surfacing and rendering.

I agree that the teaser trailer was awful. There’s no excuse for sloppy film promotion. Nevertheless, ye Pixarphiles are too quick to judge animated films that don’t fit your mold. The Dark Side I sense in you.

It’s a nice poster, but I still don’t know if I want to see it. The girl (?) one looks like those weird characters where it’s a close up of real human lips & the eyes are where the nostrils would be… like Annoying Orange. The less creepy-humanoid monsters look fine to me.
But that trailer…the pop songs seemed pretty random & unnecessary. I didn’t mind it in Happy Feet but singing & ‘finding your heart song’ was so important to the characters in that.
I guess I’ll wait for the reviews after it’s out but still… :f
