I can see why Morgan would gag. Cooking vegetables down into a mushy paste is one of the quickest ways to kill your taste buds and ruin perfectly good food. Gently frying them in olive oil is a better idea. Even more, roasting veggies in the oven because it brings out their natural sweetness.

Here's another recipe that's pretty close to the original. It can definitely be time consuming so I just use a jar of marinara sauce instead of the Piperade as a cheat. The most effort is slicing and layering the vegetables. Just stick them in the oven and voila, delicious ratatouille! This with a grilled cheese sandwich makes a perfect light supper.

Next time the Rotoscopers should try some classic French chocolate truffles. Definitely worth the hype!

Also, Ratatouille is in my top 3 Pixar films along with The Incredibles and Wall-E so I'm glad one of the rotoscopers loved it as much as me ;) The animation and atmosphere are just incredible and really elevate the film as a whole. I'm also a bit of a foodie so I love seeing the passion for good cuisine.

5/5 stars for me!

I have to disagree with the idea that Patton Oswalt shouldn't be in children's movies because of his adult-oriented stand up comedy. The best actors can take on a variety of roles and shouldn't be limited to one genre or niche target audience. After all, they're just acting. Their roles aren't a reflection of who they are as people.

If animation studios exclusively hired voice actors who only wanted to do family friendly entertainment, they'd limit themselves severely. You wouldn't be able to use almost the entire cast of Frozen for example.

Not only that, Patton clearly did an amazing job in the film. Wanting to sacrifice that because of some out of touch Puritanical views really gets under my skin :/
