I love that all the actors are relatively unknown. It carries on the tradition that Bill Melendez started of using age-appropriate child actors to give the specials verisimilitude. It’s the perfect way to hold true to the tone of the original specials and, of course, Charles Schulz’s original strip. I love this!

And it also warmed my heart to know that Melendez will still be voicing Snoopy and Woodstock 🙂

As long as the kids sound like the Peanuts gang, I’m confident this project will do wonders next Christmas. The last trailer that was posted was nothing short of greatness. The art direction is perfect! I mean, when I first saw the trailer in 3D it reminded me of the Peanuts Viewmaster reels I had growing up. The casting alleviates a speck of my fears but I’m still waiting to see more. The charm of the cartoons artwork seems lost in translation but can be saved by the writing. The depth of humanity that Charles Schulz conveyed in his writing elevated the stories he told. Hopefully the filmmakers respect this aspect of his work
