Disney won’t say anything, and that’s largely because they really can’t.

At this point, Peter Pan is essentially a public domain character. It’s the reason why Disney includes him (or to be more specific, their version of him) among their library of characters, while various other studios have been doing their own adaptations and interpretations of him and his world for decades.
