Funny thing is Pixar isn’t necessarily about making money, but Marvel and its cinematic universe are absolutely 100% about making money. Give it time, Marvel will prove an explosive profit for Disney.

Also, are these numbers U.S. or global?

We all admire sitting down and watching a good Pixar movie to cheer us up. If everyone hated Pixar, we wouldn’t have that viral Pixar theory thing. I liked Rocket in you know what.

I wish that Disney had enough courage to give Studio Ghibli wider releases. I can only check these out when they are on video.

In reply to aquapyro. I dunno, I think Pixar appeals to a wider audience and especially more families since they aren't so violent. I think that's why the home video sales are so much higher. But yeah Marvel will probably continue to grow in popularity and keep grabbing those huge box office numbers.

Firstly Lucasfilm (not just Star Wars)

Secondly if you included merchandise Marvel wouldn’t come close to Pixar.

But regardless Marvel doesn’t need to match Pixar it just needs to keep doing what it’s doing which is draw males to Disney.

Smart business by Disney and they’re certainly reaping the rewards.
