The poster is very graceful. I love the dark clouds and the sophisticated simpleness. But three things bother me.
To me, the title logo design doesn't fit what I see of the film. I could be okay with a modern, timeless font for this old fairy tale. But this one is too art deco, too first half of the 20th century, so it clearly doesn't fit the era the story takes place in.
Also Cinderella's feet are supposed to be SMALL. That's an important part of the story they seem to have forgotten about. The one we see here is quite normal-sized.
But my real issue is with her underskirt which is too obviously made of plastic. I mean synthetic fabric. It breaks all the believability of that magical world they're trying to create. And that's one thing that I noted throughout the trailer. Many of the costumes I saw are not believable at all. Neither their design or the fabrics they're made of. It feels like the costume designers don't know anything about historical costumes. I know she's a fairy but the godmother's dress makes no sartorial sense. And it's entirely made of plastic. And it shows…
On a final note, people here seem to enjoy the Jane Austen vibe the movie seems to have. I regret it. The 1950 film had a French flavour. Rightfully so since it was adapted from a French fairy tale. I wish they had tried to set this new production in a French-looking world, instead of that old British world we're so used to in cinematography.

One that I love is The Sprig Of Rosemary which is a variant of East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon. Hope that this one comes along soon.

ANOTHER adaptation of Cinderella? It needs to bring something new to the table and this doesn't appear to do so.

I think it's great that we can still have a sincere, honest and true adaptation of the original fairytale without changing or deviating too far from the source, as is the norm these days (hello, Maleficent). This movie looks really beautiful, classy and elegant; I can't wait to see it!
