I’ll assume you’re in Australia then, because Dreamworks has plenty of merchendice for their films in the US, spanning just about every film you can think of.

I do agree about the TV part. What they are doing with Netflix is just insane and I do plan to write an article on it someday.

The merger will provide both companies with huge merchandising
opportunities, something DreamWorks pales in comparison to Disney and Hasbro
properties (Like My Little Pony & Transformers), especially in the
international markets. There is Disney branded everything, while there is DreamWorks branded nothing (in Australia anyway). Why do you think Disney/Pixar made a Cars sequel and 2 Planes movies? Merchandising! Rumour is Disney have made more than $5 billion in Cars merchandising sales alone.

With the Hasbro merger they can use Hasbro’s relationships and muscle in the toy and merchandising areas and increase the presence of DreamWorks characters in the marketplace.

Plus DreamWorks does more than just feature films, they are increasing their television production area too, so there is synergy there too.

Hopefully not, I do not want a Dreamworks made My Little Pony film. IMHO Dreamworks makes good films so rarely I do not really see them this days, I got tired of getting disappointed.

In reply to Anthony Raphael. I'm talking about DreamWorks Animation. Katzenberg sold his live action division already, so DreamWorks live action rally has nothing to do with Katzenberg or the animation division.
