I’m disappointed with the results. “Everything is Awesome” is overrated in my eyes as it’s just another upbeat pop song that doesn’t do anything new or amazing. Rio 2 brings some new sound to American areas with its Samba and Bossa Nova influenced music yet only gets a nomination. Sometimes I feel Americans don’t want to try out new sounds and would rather stick with the American pop or Disney Broadway-style songs which I’ve already heard a million times on Youtube and the radio. I want some new music for my animated films which is why I give credit to films like Rio and Book of Life for trying to give us some different cultural music whether that be Brazilian or Latin.
