I think the real challenge for the director is to squeeze all that into 90 minutes, I would really love to see more of the other team too besides just Hiro and Baymax.

I had fun & enjoyed the whole movie but I also didn't feel emotionally attached enough to the characters. I liked Baymax, Tadashi, and Honey Lemon the most, but I wish we had more time to get to know the characters besides what their weapons and general personalities are... the team kinda seemed like slightly unnecessary tag alongs to me so I wish they played a bigger part, at least honey lemon grabbed the chip. Maybe it would've been nice to see them all share a bond when they were young kids, & explore Tadashi's dream to help people because of losing his parents. Also I didn't get why they had to scan the blood type of the whole city instead of just the attendees of the science fair event. I didn't think the villain was very memorable but not bad... anyway..
They should definitely do a Big Hero 6 TV series, I think it'd be successful. I liked it more than Frozen but not more than Wreck It Ralph, but maybe it'll grow on me like Wreck It Ralph did. I'd rate 7/10 at the moment. But I will say the lighting was gorgeous, Baymax was a sweetheart, that crazy portal dimension had an awesome design, and it was definitely fun to watch and I will recommend everyone check it out. ^^

Wow I've just watched it and it was awesome! I never would have thought I'd be moved to tears quite a few times!

Also I like how the brotherly chemistry between Hiro and Tadashi reminds me of the sisterly love in Frozen.

Saw this yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I spotted that Stan Lee was Fred's dad when Fred first took them to the house - the portrait was complete, it didn't have the head cut off.

Also, I hated the animation of Professor Callaghan, Krei, and Abigail. They all were very bland and reminded me of Disney's earliest attempts at CGI with "Meet the Robinsons" and "Bolt". The Big 6, Tadashi, and Aunt Cass were really well done, and you could really see the progress made since "Meet the Robinsons", for instance. Callaghan and Krei almost looked the same!

I forgot to mention in the first paragraph of my original post, but I wished they fleshed out the personalities and backgrounds of the other 4 team members of Big Hero 6. The development of the personalities and relationship between Hiro and Baymax was phenomenal, but it took out the balance of knowing who the rest of them are. The title of the movie is "Big Hero 6", not just "Hiro and Baymax" or whatever, so the title makes it a little misleading. The movie had little focus on the actual team and their relationship.

Overall, I'd still agree with your rating of 4 stars, because it was still good.

I disagree with you about Gogo. I fell in love with her! Also, I think we see a lot more of the "Honey" stereotype regarding female characters in movies. Gogo's "tough girl" personality we see a lot less of. At the end of the day, the personalities of Gogo, Honey, Wasabi, and Fred are all tropes we've seen before, just some more than others.

On another note, I actually liked the first act. I felt that it had so much more content and anticipation built into it. It started to lose steam for me around the reveal of Yokai's true identity (which happened way earlier than I expected it to, much to my disappointment). I felt that the "real" Yokai (I'll refrain from spoiling it) was predictable. It was obvious from the beginning who the red herring was, so that person was never really an option. I was hoping for a female villain, to be honest. Or that Yokai was a robot too.

One aspect which they could've focused on more was perception of technology and whether it's good or evil. Disney did sprinkle a bit of that theme in there, but not really much. The Western perception (or at least, America's perception) of the advancement of technology is seen as something sinister and bound to bring doom to us all. Whereas in Japan increasing and evolving technology is seen as essential and good. Combine the two views into the setting of San Fransokyo and you have some great potential to explore that theme more. So I was disappointed in that regard too.

Okay, I saw this movie today so I'm just going to write my review here even though everyone has probably moved on from this article (spoilers included). I must say I really liked it, I think maybe more than Frozen.

First up, cameos: I noticed 3, the first was the poster of Hans. I know you could see it in the trailers but I could not find it until I saw it on the big screen. The second was the action figure of Ralph's armor from Hero's Duty in Hiro's room with Baymax after Tadashi's death (this one I did see in the trailers) and the third was Stitch! Well, sort of. I can't remember which part but there's a part in Hiro's house where on the walls is a picture of the cat dressed as Stitch.

As for the movie itself I loved San Francokyo (is that even how you spell it? Lol) and I love the team. I know some people don't like GoGo because she comes off as too mean but she does do some small little things that show her softer side, such as hugging Hiro after he sees the video about Tadashi creating Baymax. I find Baymax extremely funny and adorable but also a little fascinating. I tend to notice that robots in movies tend to have that effect on me. In reality robots are inanimate objects that through technology seem to be living beings, which means they do not have any emotions or personality but we as an audience give them one. In reality you could say that Baymax is simply trying to understand his patient in order to treat them better and perform his function but we project an adorable innocence into him like a baby trying to understand the world. Also, he does not want to kill which is against his programming but we make it into a morale code. Plus they pulled an Iron Giant on us during the climax which we perceive as a heroic deed but could also just again be his programming.

My only problem was the villain and that the movie never made it clear what exactly started the fire which is actually kind of a big reason for what happens in the movie. Was it the villain or did a presentation go wrong or what? Also, when he stole the nanobots was it to save himself during the fire or was he already evil by that point? I'm a little confused about when the events about the "time vortex" took place. But all in all it was a nice movie, I give it 4.5/5 star and would definitely love a sequel or tv spinoff since to me this seemed more like the origin story of the team rather than them as superheroes.
