I was fascinated by the use of dolls to tell a story and giving us a sparkling brightly-colored World of Remembrance. Prior to this film I was concerned it would be too Tim Burton-esq. But “Book of Life” is truly something new and invigorating for the world of animation and storytelling.

Manolo was delightful; I found him dashing and courageous as a bull-fighter with the balance of tenderness in his music and gentleness. And knowing that Joaquin and Xibalba are impressed by Manolo and motivated to improve themselves further defines Manolo as a hero; he tries to better himself and by doing so, is bettering the people around him.

😀 This was a great movie. I’m so glad it’s doing so well. I want to see it again so badly. I’m going to get the Blu-Ray and iTunes download of this when it comes out.
