Aww, that’s cute. Someone actually thought that animated Oz movie had a chance against heavy hitters like Disney and Dreamworks. ^_^

I haven’t seen HTTYD2, so to be fair I can’t make a call on that properly, but I heard it wasn’t as good as the first one. I want Big Hero 6 to win, but honestly I think Lego Movie will win, which…. really isn’t that bad a thing. I’m a die-hard Disney fan, but the Lego Movie was very unique.

I’m glad all these films got nominated, but I’m still bitter over the judges’ comments in last year’s round–a lot of them voted for Frozen or just didn’t vote because they didn’t really care about animation. Personally I want to see some Cartoon Saloon, Laika and Reel FX Studios love. But I’m not very hopeful at the moment, if the judges are the same.

In reply to Bahtiyar Bars. HTTYD2 s not one of the best western animated films of all time. It nowhere reachs the heights of it's previous film. Compared to Pixar's acclaimed films, as well as more older animations, Snow White, Iron Giant etc it stands no ground.

Oh man… just looking at my own personal shortlist (haven’t seen the last 2 yet, but in the international options Cartoon Saloon & Ghibli are both good bets/I enjoy their work) I’m already two over the max #! I forgot so many of these were released this year. Big Hero 6, The Book of Life, The Boxtrolls, How to Train Your Dragon 2, The LEGO Movie, Song of the Sea, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya… I love that we’re at a place where there are all these fantastic options!!

Personally I’d love for Disney to get it for Big Hero 6, since it’s one of my absolute favorites this year, they’ve only ever won in this category for Frozen and I think the way they have turned things around in the last few years deserves some recognition. That said, there are some great studios here that HAVEN’T been recognized yet, so that would be equally awesome. Basically – TOUGH YEAR. GAH. haha

Shoud win: HTTYD2 – one of the best western animated movie of all time or Princess Kaguya (i have not seen) – its Ghibli, looks great, positive reviews and i love japanese animation (it has least chance to win- Oscar is an american award, not international). I think will win: Big Hero 6 – because Disney/Pixar (brand) or The Lego movie because of its success…
