Awesome post, Mark! I’m so glad you included Sakharine on our Villains list because I’m also a huge fan of the Tintin franchise and was so impressed with the mo-cap film. I recall in the making of the film how the creators wanted Sakharine to be a “Champagne villain” i.e. nicely-dressed and well-spoken when you meet him–then he gets meaner as time goes on. Having a wimpy or incompetent villain wouldn’t be fitting for Herge’s world; Tintin’s a smart guy so he needs an adequate challenge during his adventures.

Having a pet hawk was cool and I thought Daniel Craig’s menacing voice was so different that I didn’t realize it was James Bond doing the role. Especially after Tintin is captured and Sakharine just lets him talk aloud and walk himself through the mystery while he keep saying. “Yes”, “Yes”, and finally, “YES!!”

Finally non Disney! Not that I didn’t like it but nice to see a face I have seen from a very underrated movie I think since I shockingly really liked it mainly for the art style and for the adventure!
Oh yeah the villain ummmmm don’t remember much of him but I love his style a lot!
