In reply to Haley TheRadiant. Yes, she is pretty cool in that regard of trying to cover up her craziness in front of Rapunzel. She has a burst of rage, screams at Rapunzel, and then slouches in her chair oh-so-dramatically. "Great, now I'm the bad guy!" It's that over-the-top theatrics that make her entertaining yet at the same time menacing.

Mother Gothel is one of my favorite villains, she really is enjoyable to watch. Especially her song. These villains stand to the villains of the renaissance films

Well..to be honest..I didn’t care about Mother Gothel. And I’m sorry to say this but she is lone of my top 5 worst villains. She was a disappointment to me.

I always felt Gothel could have developed some creepy obsessive love for Rapunzel. 18 years with Rapunzel and feeling nothing after that much time doesn’t make much sense to me. Even if that was somehow realistic, then I’d say that’s “18 years” worth of missed story opportunities.

Oh well, even though I wasn’t completely satisfied with Gothel’s role in the movie, she still gets the job done.

I had a weird obsession with this villain later this summer and IDK Y but I just really enjoy her mainly for her songs and she reminds me of Maleficent (A LITTLE!!) by how she has one goal and she is evil about it but what I love most about her is she has somewhat hidden her evilness from Rapunzel to just keep her to herself! I mean talk about dedication
