Hey, I love your podcast and am a little surprised, you guys should really check out Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaur. It's real comedy. In my opinion it's as enjoyable as the first two movies. And the next Ice Age movie should probably be title 'Ice Age 5: The Age of Extinction'.

I remember watching the first one in the theaters and enjoying it a lot. But just as Chelsea said when she watched it in the theaters she left the movie not remembering too much about it- I just remembered that it was good.

I didn't watch any of the sequels until the fourth one, Ice Age: Continental Drift, came out. My friend and I took her daughter to watch the movie and I actually thought it was great. It was much memorable than the first, but that could also be due to it's more fresh in my mind. And honestly Nicki Minaj wasn't too bad in her role in the movie (*cough* Mason *cough*). The voice that I found distracting was Jennifer Lopez's- all I could hear was "Jennifer Lopez".

I think you can tell I definitely listened to the podcast. Great show as always, keep it up!

I remember seeing the first movie twice in theaters, once with a cousin and another time with my parents and siblings. I saw the second one in theaters too, I saw the third one on DVD when I visited a relative, after that I stopped. I think the first is the best, mostly because of Manny and Diego's character arcs. I felt like the sequels were just trying to give the original characters love interests, even Scrat!

I don't think Blue Sky Studios has made a movie as good as the first one, one that is very funny yet has a lot of heart to it. And Morgan, you could also use the excuse that any birds in the movies count as dinosaurs, since they're said to have evolved from them.

Also quite surprised you guys read the first email I ever sent in, I'm glad The Secret of Kells is at least on your list of films to review.

Great review!

I've seen 'Ice Age' only once and it was many years ago, but I think my love for it was akin to Morgan's. It was okay, didn't love it. I don't get why other people "love" it.

I've actually seen all the sequels for two reasons: 1) Whenever I start a series, I feel that I need to "commit" to it and watch all the movies in a series and 2) I don't pay money to see films, be it in theaters or buying/renting the DVD. What I do is that I'm blessed by having an amazing public library system. My county library system is a great one that actually has DVDs to check out and they get all the new releases that come out every week, so I get to watch a lot of films that way, for free, and legal, so, it's AWESOME!

Anyway, yeah the sequels are extremely forgettable in my opinion and I'm not a fan of Blue Sky's celebrity studded voice cast, especially Nicki Minaj in 'Ice Age: Continental Drift'. So, I'm not excited for 'Ice Age 5' at all!

And to answer your question, Mason, no I don't think Scrat is ever a main character in any of the films.

Another thing to mention is that Brad Garrett, who played Ray Romano's brother on 'Everybody Loves Raymond', is actually a quite prolific voice actor and has done MANY voice roles, even as early as 'Jetsons: The Movie'.

I love the Ice Age films and I honestly think that Ice Age 3 is the best one out of the bunch. I think it has just the right blend of everything: comedy, emotion, story, interesting characters. Plus, I love the addition of dinosaurs to the franchise and thought it was hysterical when Sid decided to be the "mother" of the T-Rex eggs. And come on, who didn't laugh hysterically when Sid tried to "milk" the male ox? That's classic right there! LOL!
