All I remember are the ponies fighting these purple sludge monsters. I don’t regularly watch the new show, but I do like knowing the history of certain animated shows with such long histories and saw this on YouTube, http://youtu.be/LaNQyiPCCW4. A channel suggested to me for subscribing to the Rotoscopers! It explains the differences between generation 1 thru generation 4 (who knew there were that many?).

I only ever got to see the original series when I was at my friend’s house growing up (they were “cool” and had cable). So I’m really excited to own this so I can watch the original in its entirety.

But that said, I’ve been a collector and fan of MLP for a long time and this is really great news! The previous (and long since out of print) DVD release wasn’t exactly complete, plus the episodes were out of order and edited slightly. Hopefully this new set will right those wrongs.

Maybe My Little Pony Tales will also get it’s first proper release soon. Well, a girl can dream anyhow.
