I think this’ll be LAIKA’s most commercially successful film yet. It has more mass appeal than its last two films (which were also good) but I feel had a very select demographic, ie. Hot Topic, “Nightmare…”, kind of fan base. Boxtrolls looks and feels like LAIKA but I think they appealed to more of he masses with this one, whilst still sticking to their aesthetic.

The whole gag of that girl asking that guy to remove the box and the reaction from the actual trolls was hilarious
