Good podcast! I never loved this film, but never not enjoyed myself when watching it.

While not on my favorites list, I enjoyed this movie. The way it was done was unique at the time – animated life-like CG characters in actual real life scenes. Walking with Dinosaurs would copy that technique 13 years later (how original). Also, this was really Disney’s first “self”-produced CG animated movie. “Self” being that it wasn’t Walt Disney Feature Animation but The Secret Lab that made this movie (and it was the only one they made). That basically distances itself from being a full fledged “Disney Classic” or at least gives the excuse to do so. I thought it was well made and the story was ho-hum. I’m a little saddened few appreciate it at least a little bit. We own a copy and it has been re-watched by my kids.

Dayum this could’ve been a GREAT movie! I remember first seeing the teaser trailer before Toy Story 2 and, being only 9 at the time, I was in awe whilst watching it and couldn’t wait to see the full movie! When the day finally arrived and I went to see it (twice, once with the family and second at a friend’s party) I liked it but…it wasn’t as great as I imagined. Watching it again now as an adult I feel it’s even more lacklustre than I thought. I’d give it a solid 3 out of 5 though just because the two highlights, that being the animation and fantastic soundtrack, are still amazing to this day. Anyway, great podcast as always you guys!

I never remember seeing this movie in theater. I did Own it on VHS and recently popped it in but fell asleep. I got bored. I do remember those Creepy McDonald Hand Puppets.

I remember thinking about how cool the trailer was, and we begged and begged to see it. We finally rented it from Blockbuster, and about halfway through, every single member of my family (including me) had fallen asleep. We woke up when the credits were rolling, then returned it and never watched it or spoke about it again. A very strange oddity for a family that has seen every Disney movie (even The Black Cauldron) at least half a dozen times.

i share Morgan’s view for most of this film…it’s very bland. I don’t even really hate it because it’s so blah. I’ll give it that the animation effects are pretty for the time, but sharing Mason’s view on the unappealing character designs too.

Just gonna put it out there,that Rex is a dinosaur. TS3 maybe. Also I couldn’t find this film online, but I do remember watching it, after watching the trailer. I totally forgot that they talked. Cheers guys, I always have great crack listening to the podcast 🙂
