In reply to Mayra Amaya. Yes, probably the most memorable emotional point in Earthsea occurred on the bridge, just before the third act. But as the stakes for our hero seems to escalate, the scope of the story seems to diminish. I was disappointed overall, but still am glad that I saw it through.

In reply to Matthew Sample II. I actually couldn't get through Tales of Earthsea but definitely think Goro redeemed himself with From Up On Poppy Hill. Not to mention Hiromasa Yonebayashi may be another potential leader for the studio, but we'll see how When Marnie Was There turns out.

Studio Ghibli’s future may rest on this series. Hopefully they can deliver on the raw emotion that they’ve built their series on. I have a lot of respect for Goro Miyazaki—excellent work in Tales of Earthsea and From Up On Poppy Hill—but he’s not his dad. I hope that he’s able to carry this.

I think it’s important to note (like with any anime series), what you see in the PV (trailer) is not necessarily finalized animation. So while there is a chance it could look like this, there’s also a decent chance it might look more polished and natural. And when it’s released on Bluray/DVD, it will undoubtedly be even more cleaned up which happens for almost all present era anime.

In reply to Haley TheRadiant. Agreed Haley. The backgrounds are your usual Ghibli, but the character animation in Sony and Ghibli's Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was significantly more pleasing to the eyes (plus its for PS3 so it's interactive!).
