I'm probably one of very few people who actually liked the live-action Scooby Doo movies that were released theatrically. I have to admit though that the second one far exceeded the first. The first was ok, but I feel like the second one totally captured the fun and the feel of the cartoon series. We didn't get a Scooby Doo 3 ten years ago because the studio felt that Scooby Doo 2 underperformed. Well it did, but it had good reason to. Scooby Doo 2 was released close to Easter that year, which was the same year that the Passion of the Christ released. There was no way Scooby Doo 2 was going to out perform a Passion movie near Easter. It was horrible timing. Anyway, I would love to see a reboot of the live action movies. I'd also like to see some of the "sillyness" toned down and approach it in a more serious manner. I think if done the right way, a live action Scooby Doo could be phenomenal and I, for one, am excited to hear more news about this movie as it develops.

I wasn't a fan of the theatrical live-action films, but I did like the TV live-action films that were released a few years ago.

But in the end, give me back my animated Scooby-Doo and Casey Kasem :( .

Scooby Doo is rebooted in some form every other year. How is this news? In other words Warner Brothers should retire this franchise for a while.
