When Viz Media first announced they obtained the rights, they also announced they just started dubbing it. The new dub cast (and I believe they also said the first dubbed episode) will be revealed at Anime Expo on July 5 – the same day Sailor Moon Crystal will be released. And yes, it will be on the Blu-Ray/DVD release. And I’m assuming it will pop up online as well since Viz is known for releasing their dubs for streaming in addition to subs.

I’ve been re-watching the original on Neon Alley (for the international re-watch), and it’s only subtitled in English (unless there’s an option I totally didn’t see because I was too excited to see it). So I take it the re-dub is for the Blu-ray release?

I agree, they do some amazing work. What’s astonishing about anime is how much they get out of one pose! They generally move the mouth more than anything else, so that means they have to have SUPER strong poses since they’ll be on screen for quite some time. It requires a very strong skill set for sure. 🙂

The very first voice you hear is the new voice for Luna. You don’t hear Usagi’s voice (reprised by Kotono Mitsuishi as Idril stated) until she yells, “Moon Prism Power Makeup!”

I am okay with the new one. But I really like any Sailor Moon theme songs in the original Japanese (and ONLY in the original Japanese), Moonlight Densetsu, Sailor Song, and this new one all are great. I’m really liking where the artstyle’s going too.

Was about to post that. Unless she was talking about the English voice actress, but DIC is a dirty word with almost everyone these days. 😉

It’s cool JK. I couldn’t animate anywhere close to how some of these artists pull it off much less inbetweening. It would most likely drive me mad lol.
