In reply to Mason Smith. It's because a trailer house did the cut, not the animation studio. This is fairly typical for animated features, especially ones that are teamed up with Fox's marketing.

YEAHHH!!! Wicked cool! I haven’t been so surprised!….since I saw the trailer for BH6 😀 But this looks so AWESOMESAUCE wow wow wawww!!! Channing Tatum jajajaj and the animation’s spectacular and Reel FX will redeem itself YAY!! HTTYD2 and BH6 will have some compitetion with this movie @ the oscars 2015!!! 😀 love this so muchhh!

Considering the nature of The Book of Life, I can see this becoming a franchise where each film is a stand-alone story connected by the mythology and possibly a few other characters.

In reply to Allen. Yes, Pixar's Dia de los Muertos film is directed by Lee Unkrich. When I visited Pixar in March, I saw the floor where the pre-production/story is being worked on. It was totally decked out in a Dia de los Muertos theme. But yes, we don't know exactly when it will come out, but it's expected to be 2016/2017.

I actually just watched Free Birds last week on Netflix and didn’t think it was all that bad. I was impressed by the animation and I genuinely laughed quite a few times throughout the film. Was is an Oscar-worthy effort? Of course not. However, it was not as bad as people were/are making it out to be. With that said, I was unsure what I’d think about this new film, but the animation looks incredible and the story seems interesting. I might actually have to check this one out in theaters!
