You gotta hand it to Jorge Gutierrez. This is all his vision. As for Guillermo del Toro, I got to speak with some of the ‘Book of Life’ crew yesterday; they told me that Del Toro had little to no influence on the art style of the film. As producer, he helped manage relations between Reel FX and Fox (which is a huge help).

Ok for all of those who are on me for being a CGI-hater you can back-off. This is WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. This film design has whimsy! Not everything has to be so darned photo-realistic. THAT MOON HAS BRUSH STROKES Y’ALL!!! 🙂
