While I'm sure it needs no mention, that first 10 minutes of the film were my favorite personally if only for the set-up of the main character's previous years as a child, meeting this girl and then marrying her, and the lives they had together. I enjoyed "Up!" pretty well and didn't mind spending more to see it in 3D at the time, at least by the end with the old guy becoming a "big brother" to the kid left me with satisfaction for the experience.

As a venezuelan, I'm a proud with the work that Pixar did illustrating the landscapes of the region where I live, the "Gran Sabana". Actually the Up's production team did a stop-off in my city (Puerto Ordaz) to go to the Gran Sabana to investigate and get inspired with the tepuis and the Angel Falls (the most world's highest waterfall). Here is a documentary of that (crazy) journey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv0uNQM1xRw

Oh my! You really are heartless! Hahaha. I feel Carl didn't cry because his sorrow was beyond words. We obviously thought it was beautiful and I always cry but it's interesting to know people who think differently exist...

And thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed my contributions!

Great podcast as always! I really liked Pablo, I'd love to hear him in more podcasts in the future! Personally, I loved 'Married Life' sequence because it's really nice to see two people who love each other so much just grow old together and still be so close. I think that's the kind of love that many people hope to have one day. I love when they're old and they're dancing together and then when we see them wiping the windows.... but I (prepare to be shocked) don't really find it all that sad. I'm actually a pretty heartless person, but I just feel like they could have made it sadder if maybe we saw Carl cry when Ellie died or something? I mean, he loved Ellie a lot. Any emotions I got were probably from the music, they really did a good job! I remember last time I went to The Magic Kingdom they had the music playing in the background as my family and I were walking down Main street USA, it really fit! Overall this is around # 5 out of my favorite Pixar movies. Like you guys mentioned in the Podcast, it has a strong beginning and end but the middle has its flaws.

And now for some trivia that might make you cry even more: According to director Pete Docter, the filmmakers' first story outline after they came up with Elllie was that Carl wanted to "Join his wife in the sky" but then they realized that once he got airborne, what then? Which is when they added the whole thing with paradise falls, etc.

P.S. I'm really excited to hear what you guys think about "All dogs go to Heaven," especially Ken Page as King Gator for some reason!

Yes, sorry about that Best Picture confusion. I misspoke. We're reediting the episode to remove that incorrect reference.

Great podcast for a great movie! I'll never forget the first time I saw that opening sequence in the theater. There was no way to hold back emotion of any kind. It was the most genius sequence I've ever seen on film up to that point. There is so much character development and so much emotion displayed in such little time, but it's very well done and it immediately draws you in. This movie deserved the "Best Picture" nomination for sure.

On a side note, I think most people forget this, but Toy Story 3 was another animated film that got the "Best Picture" nomination at the Academy Awards. So up to date only 3 animated movies have been good enough to receive that nomination. That's pretty impressive in my opinion!

Also, I think a great movie to review for your "Dogs" podcast series would be "Bolt." This was a great movie and it was such an improvement over some of Disney's first attempts at full-length CGI features such as Chicken Little and The Wild. This was, in my opinion, a result of John Lasseter becoming Chief Creative Officer at Disney.

Thanks for the awesome work!
