I’m sure it will be mentioned as being based on a Marvel property in the same way that Tarzan was advertised as being based on the books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, but beyond that the film is being wholly produced by Disney animation with some input from Joe Queseda at Marvel. If you look on both IMDB and Wikipedia as well as at the title itself, there’s no mention of Marvel’s involvement or even their logo.

Do you have a source for that? I can imagine Disney distancing BH6 from the other Marvel films, as it is being developed by WDAS as a standalone without any connection to the MCU (easier to sell that way), but I can’t see them keeping the name out completely… and even if they did, it’s not like they can hide the connection — it’s going to be brought up by audiences and reviewers.

How’re you so sure she’s voicing Honey Lemon? It’s still unconfirmed. Maybe it’s Hiro’s mom? I hope it is anyway…

This is a common misconception. Although it’s based on a Marvel property, it will be 100% a Disney film. Marvel’s name won’t appear anywhere on this.

One thing you cannot complain about with Disney is their casting, especially compared to other studios – they’d never cast someone just for promotional reasons. Also, besides the fact we have no idea if Maya Rudolph is even cast, we don’t know if she would be Honey Lemon anyway (though I suggest listening to Maya’s impression of Gwen Stefani before passing judgement if she were). Maya is a talented voice actress – we’d be lucky to have her cast. (PS. Sarah Silverman was a similar age when she played 9-year-old Vanellope.)

She’s 41, She’s playing an 18, 19, 20-year old girl in Honey Lemon? Awful casting choice Disney. What are you thinking?! It will not work. I want Big Hero 6 to succeed. Cast Emma Stone, someone who can help promote the film and you know, actually sounds young instead of an old woman!
