One of the best lines ever when Morgan mentioned that Megara would be between a rock and a hard place later in the movie, lol.

I know it might be a little late to comment, but I just listened to the Hercules Podcast yesterday and it really got me thinking about the movie. Growing up, Hercules was one of my favorite Disney movies. Mostly because 'I won't say I'm in Love' was (and still is) one of my favorite Disney songs. now that I'm older, I have mixed feelings for it. From Thalia (The Muse of Comedy)'s first line "He's making the story sound like a Greek Tragedy!" It is a Greek tragedy! I know she meant the Ancient Greek Plays Tragedy, but Hercules's story is tragic, at least his most famous story. He killed his wife and kids and then did Twelve impossible labors in an attempt to forgive himself. I know many people argue that Disney had to change it for the kids, but if it's such a dark story, why couldn't they have gone for another hero? It's Greek Mythology! I'm sure they could have found someone else. And I think Hades is funny, but I dislike how they basically made him into a Ancient Greek version of the Devil. He's actually probably the best out of the three brothers, at least he actually stayed faithful to his wife!....I think. Anyways, that's just from the point of view from a lover of mythologies and folktales. I liked some of the ways they changed the original myths, such as how they combined The Fates and The Grey sisters. And what they did with The Muses was great! All of them (especially Thalia) are tied with Megara for my favorite characters. And speaking of Meg, I think making her a princess could have worked if after her old boyfriend left her, her parents would have asked him what happened to her, and He would have said something "She's with Hades, now," therefore causing them to think she's dead and by the time of the events of the movie, everyone's kind of forgotten about her or moved on. I have a lot of other thoughts about this movie, probably enough to write a whole essay, but this comment's already big enough as it is!

P.S. Great podcast as always, and I love the little T-Shirt contest announcement at the end, for some reason it made me laugh!

I love your podcasts. I'm glad that keep them clean. I would say, that they're more for adults, but they're still clean. I'm also glad that you don't do mush controversial stuff. You should do Pocahontas, and (even though it is not an animated film) The Sound Of Music.

I will back up Frank's comment on the comedy in "Hercules" compared to "Aladdin". In the latter, the pop culture references centered around the Genie and somehow that kept the comedy contained and focused on him. In "Hercules", everyone was doing it and I found it a bit jarring in the film. But I still find "Hercules" to be very entertaining for the timing and of course, Hades. Anyone who can use the word "Shlemiel" in a Disney movie gets my vote.

Turning Greek mythology in a film is tricky because there's not a specific canon version (as opposed to turning to the New/Old Testament for Biblical films) and with various adaptations of the story passed around, the material has to be adjusted into a story for the public.

Just when I thought the Rotoscopers couldn't get any better, you mentioned "Spamalot". *Whistles "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"*

Since Mason wasn't on the episode, we didn't announce it until we confirmed with him, but the next episode is...*drumroll*.....Ralph Bakshi's LORD OF THE RINGS!
